Behind the curtain:

The Illution of Choice

George Carlin: The Illusion Of Choice

Viewer discretion is advised

Quote:

"I do this real moron called thinking... and im not a very good amarican because I like to form my own opinions."

George Carlin (1937-2008) was an American stand-up comedian, social critic, actor and author. He is famous for his black humor as well as histhoughts on politics, psychology, religion and various taboo subjects.

This is a collection of his talks. in some par he also says about wars that involves USA. He also says about dark sides of it and he don't hesitate to use his own kind of language.

In this video he talks about illution of choice. he says that we are living in a illuton that there is no freedom of choice, and we are force to believe that we are living in a life with choice. How so cold choices got slowly reduced from dozens to couple few even those are controlled by handful of people. How politicians who are appointed from the people neglect lower class of citizens.

The hidden influence of social networks

Nicholas Christakis: The hidden influence of social networks

Another great TED talk. What is facinating about this one is that it talks about social network.
When we hear that word first thing that comes to our minds is Facebook, google+, twitter, etc What he refers to as social network is about the one we all live in. The ont existed before such social services.

Which was the idea behind such websites. In this talk he shows us some research he have done. Which demonstrate the network we all live in. How lives could change beause of our friends or their friends(friends of friends) or friends of friends of friends....

We form different kinds of networks/bonds in our lives. he was able to show that to us very well. what kind of influence it have on us depending on the network type we develop.

He also went on to show how we are connected imortionally. How we respond to each other from a innocent smile to an angry riot.

I wanted to post this because our world is facing a terrible time. Its in a mess. Financial crysis, terrorism is felt everywhere. i feel we needs to be connected to get our world out of this mess.

It is only by strengthen our human network we can trump.

I'll finish this discription with somthing he says, "Benefits of connected life outways the cost".

Online Education

Education is essential for all of us. It's a basic human need. Whenever we think about Education School, college or a university comes to our mind. One can even ask do we need  those places to get an education. Well, NO thanks to the power of the internet we don't. You don't necessarily have to go to a college or a university to get a degree level education.
There are open courses provided by leading educational institutes in the world for anyone. I have come up with some of them and decide to put them in a list so anyone can access them easily.

  • The Khan Academy
This is undoubtedly one of the best resources which are freely available to anyone who's interested to get a solid understanding of the concepts in various fields. I would recommend this as a reference material to anyone who wants to get a higher education. It's wise to get a solid understanding of basics before going for more complex, advanced ones.
I have already put up a post on this which you can find in HERE.

  • Education Portal
This is a fantastic site for getting a degree level education. You can search your preferred course from thousands of free online ones.

  • LenearsTv

Another great site for getting good quality education. This site contains lectures from universities from around the world in video lectures, lecture notes, science animations, and even in presentation.

  • Coursera

Probably THE best online resource site I've come across. 16 universities (by the time of writing this article) have come together to present these lectures. These lectures conduct a similar way to an actual university. So you can get high quality education by using this site. What is the price for all of this? the best you can get; FREE.

  • Academic Earth

This is another great site full of resources from universities. You can select your preferred subject and fellow the course.

This is only a summary of such resources, hope you find this educational...

Freeing Energy from the grid

I came across this talk few months back. The precentor of this talk Justin Hall-Tipping has done collaborative research and found that we no longer need to depend on an Electricity grid. We can simply can create our own energy. Thus removing the need of a grid. Clean free energy is available to all.
We now (upto now)  live in world world where we don't use a lot of energy sources that's all around us. Specially the sun. He and his research team from around the globe have found a way to harness just that.

He also goes on to talk about the social media and what its role in all of this.
I find this talk very interesting hope you do too.

Techno Magic

We all are fascinated by magic since we were young. When the magician does something we watch him with our eyes wide open.
Magic was practiced by many cultures.

Now modern magicians perform magic which is far more intricate than in the past.

Among them there is a brand of magic that is relatively new to the subject but mesmerizing as the other magic tricks. This is called Techno magic. Which are magic performed purely by using technology.

Among the few people who practice this type of magic the name Marco Tempest has a significant place.

I have collected some of his performances, Which I believe to be fascinating.

If interested you can visit his web site at marcotempest.com

Math : Linear Algebra

Data entry jobs

There are various ways to earn money on the internet. Among them data entry jobs take a significant role. These are ideal jobs for working at home, part time.

These kind of jobs is preferred by,
  • Parents staying home
  • Students
  • People between jobs.
Just as any money making way found on the internet these types of jobs are also filled with scamers. But there are few legit sites/ companies that actually hire and pay people to do data entry.

For those of who don't quite understand how it works can get an idea from the following caption.

It's that easy. But do keep in mind no ones going to give away money for anyone. They have to earn it. Most of the time with hard work. As much as it is true in the real world it is also true in these jobs. You get paid according to how much you work.
The only thing you need is to improve your typing skills. Because your earning rate depends on your typing speed and accuracy.
For more Details on Speed typing visit my post here

Touch typing

Have you ever had a situation like that you have to type in front of a computer at an exam or at a job where you have to complete something before a deadline. So you are typing with all your might and suddenly the person next to you finishes his and you sees that he has written at least five times what you have written so far. But you are still at the beginning. Frustrating isn't it?
Well there is a solution to that it is to learn touch typing...

Touch typing, what is that?
It's a term used when a person is fluent in the keyboard that he/she can type so fast without even looking at it.

So how can we do it. Is it possible to learn it and type as fast as that guy next to me?
Yes, you can. The trick to it is to know where in the keyboard are the keys and how to place your fingers in it.

The following picture shows how to place your fingers. Overwhelming isn't it. Now you may even start to think whether you can actually learn all of them. In time YES, you can.

Remember  there are a position called the base position, it is when your left hand fingers in keys A-F and right hand ones in keys J-; (just next to L, see the picture).

The Khan Academy

Hey guys, today I'm going to tell you about a wonderful educational site I came across while searching for tutorials. It has video tutorials on a lot of subjects including Mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science; and its all free.
All the tutorials are well explained and described in a way that anyone can understand what it is about.

So what is this Khan Academy?
It is a non-profit educational organization created in 2006 by Salman Kahn (not to be confused with the Bollywood actor with the same name). This guy is a graduate of MIT and Harward Business School.
They have stated their mission is to provide "high quality education to anyone anywhere". This I believe is exactly what they have done.

Visit their website : www.khanacademy.org

They also have a YouTube channel which contains more than 3,200 micro lectures.
You can visit the channel here :  LINK

Java Resources

Java is an exciting programming language developed at Sun microsystems (Now merged into Oracal corporation).  Java is currently one of the most popular programming languages in use, particularly for client-server web applications, with a reported 10 million users. It is intended to let application developers "write once, run anywhere" (WORA), meaning that code that runs on one platform does not need to be recompiled to run on another. This brings the edge to java over lot of other languages.
Java accomplish this by using a VM  called JVM (java virtual mechine). It helps the program to run on any computer regardless of the computer architecture or in other words hardware technology.

On November 13, 2006, Sun released much of Java as free and open source software, (FOSS), under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). On May 8, 2007, Sun finished the process, making all of Java's core code available under free software/open-source distribution terms. Allowing anyone interested to develop/improve it.

Java is a really good OO (object oriented) language, but it has a simpler Object model and fewer lower level facilities with respect to other OOP languages like C, C++.

It has two major components.SDK (Software development kit) also referd as JDK (java development kit) and JRE (java runtime environment).

JRE (a subset of the SDK) contains all the runtime libraries that are essential for running any java application.  It also is the JVM which I mention before.
SDK contains compiler, utility programs, header files and jre. This is the most essential part needed to develop a java application.

There are various versions of JAVA.
  • JDK 1.0 (January 23, 1996)
  • JDK 1.1 (February 19, 1997)
  • J2SE 1.2 (December 8, 1998)
  • J2SE 1.3 (May 8, 2000)
  • J2SE 1.4 (February 6, 2002)
  • J2SE 5.0 (September 30, 2004)
  • Java SE 6 (December 11, 2006)
  • Java SE 7 (July 28, 2011)

Most of the people who start to learn java struggle a little in the beginning. There are some really good resources out there, what you see below is a list of such; which I think anyone who’s interested in java might find useful.

Its been nearly 6 years since Hitman : Blood money hit the shelves in 2006, agent 47 is suppose to be at rest. But it was turn up to be false when suddenly he resurfaced in about year ago. Its rumored that this time around he's  going for the kill in a personal level. Recently he was seen in Chicago. Where some unfortunate "accidents" have occurred.

Some of the ICA (The International Contract Agency) secret files went public recently, they show some interesting roles. All of whom have ties to the Agent 47 in the past.

Giveaway of the Day

Software piracy is one the Largest problems in the IT industry. Many people don't think much about it. But for Software designers, developers whom spend hours and hours to develop their software is a terrible loss. To see their product/ software (their intellectual property) is being pirated and copied and sell all over the place WITHOUT GIVING them even a DIME which they deserve, is painful to watch. The worst part is that most of the time they (developers) don't even get credit. This kind of situations could demotivate them from creating marvellous software's.

So what can we do to prevent these kind of things...  Is there an answer for this?
